Personal side note: This is the day that the San Diego fires started that year. I was at the Street Fair with my mother, and the wind was wicked strong. We heard fire trucks leaving the city, but didn’t think too much of it, even after partially overhearing someone say there was a fire somewhere. It wasn’t until my drive back to UTC that the sky turned pitch black that I realized there were fires in the area.
