Shot Notes

From left to right, the driving and creative forces behind Marvel’s upcoming movie, Iron Man – Adi Granov (comic artist), Jon Favreau (director), Stan Winston (special effects genius), and Robert Downey, Jr. (lead actor – Tony Stark / Iron Man).

This isn’t my best pic from Comic-Con on Saturday, but this was an amazing scene. I camped a great spot for almost 1.5 hours before the scheduled unveiling of the Mark 1 Iron Man suit, and ended up being 5 feet from Favreau and Downey when they came on stage. I actually got to shake Mr. Downey’s hand (and took the opportunity to thank him for the brilliant film, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and then was only 9 feet from them all when they stood here in this picture. The only downside to the whole event was press photogs showed up about 5 minutes before the unveiling and got shoved into small spaces in front of us fans that had been waiting for over an hour. (One of the three in front of me partially seen in the picture, to the right.) Thanks, Marvel!
