Shot Notes

A seagull hitching a ride to shore upon the Californian, a schooner operated by the San Diego Maritime Museum for educational institutions and private sailing adventures. My employers rented the ship for the latter in 2006 as a summer team-building exercise, and I snapped this photo as we headed back in for the day.

The Californian is “the Official Tall Ship of the State of California”, and is a historical landmark. She was built in 1984 as a replica of the 1847 Revenue Cutter C.W. Lawrence.
